Holywell Morning and Out of School Clubs

The Holywell Morning and Out of School Clubs are based at Holywell Primary School during school term times. The Morning Club runs from 8.00am to 8.50am and the Out of School Club runs from 3.15pm to 6.00pm. The children take part in a range of indoor and outdoor activities.

The clubs offer the flexibility often required when juggling home, school and work commitments. The Morning and After School Clubs provide a safe, nurturing and friendly place for children to play, exercise, have fun, socialise, rest and relax.

Morning Club

Morning Club opens at 8.00am and at 8.50am Children in Key Stage 2 leave the club to join their friends in the playground in readiness for going into their class. The children in Key Stage 1 (Reception and Years 1 and 2) are walked to their classroom or taken to line up with their teacher in the playground.

Morning club is managed by two practitioners and provides a calm, caring environment for those children who need care prior to starting the school day. The focus is to care for the children and prepare them for the school day without engaging in activities that are too demanding to ensure that they are at their best at the start of the day.

The morning club does not provide breakfast though drinking water is available at all times. Some parents choose to send breakfast or a light snack for their child to eat whilst at Morning Club.

After School Club

The After School Club is open from 3.15pm until 6.00pm. When the school day finishes, the children in Key Stage 2 walk across to the club and the younger children in Reception and Year 1 and 2 are collected from their classroom by the club staff. The club is managed by a team of three qualified and experienced members of staff.

Staff at the club are aware that as well as being fun and exciting, the school day can also be a demanding and tiring one. They strive to provide a place where children can learn and play but also feel comfortable and safe in a place where they can rest, ‘chill out’ and just be themselves.

Staff plan some structured activities. However, a strong focus is placed on supporting and facilitating activities that are initiated and led by the children. The staff are also passionate about outdoor play and make the most of the outdoor space.

If you would like to visit the club and chat with the staff prior to making a booking then please don’t hesitate to contact the Nursery Office on 01509 515456. Alternatively, between 3.00pm and 6.00pm you can contact the club on 07881 811 347 and we will be able to book a visit convenient to you and your child. This is a good opportunity for you and your child to meet the staff and other children. You will also be able to see what activities are available and the staff will be able to answer any queries you may have.
