The nursery Manager is a qualified teacher in early years and over 90% of the staff are qualified in childcare. One of the staff who holds the Early Years Professional Status - Level 6 - is responsible for co-ordinating the development of the Early Years Framework within the team.
Another member of the team has achieved Foundation Degree Level 5 and again takes an active role in sharing with her colleagues the latest and innovative ideas in childcare development. The nursery also has two SENCO's (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators) who are very experienced in working with parents and outside agencies to support childrens' additional needs.
The nursery team work well in partnership with parents to ensure their child has the best start in early years education.
The nursery is registered to receive Government Funding to support the education of all three and four year olds. Each child has their own 'Key person' who ensures that they are able to use their own learning style in order to develop as individuals.
Their development is recorded through the use of Individual 'Learning Journeys' which the child helps to develop and to which the parents also contribute.
Regular observations and recording in all areas of their Key Children's development support the planning of the 'Next Steps' required in developing the child's learning experiences.
